Eagle Ranch, PD

this is an old event, Saturday 27 Nov 2009

went to Eagle Ranch, PD for our Sports and Recreation subject project

arrived at uni's library ATM at 7.30am, late as usual

took a school bus to the destination

overheard that the bus fare was 1K

could you believe that? so expensive

no wonder they charged us RM250 per person for the trip

(though refunded RM32.50 later)

arrived at the venue at about 9.30am

assembled and briefed

the first program was ice-breaking

required to ask for 50 signatures that matched each criteria in the table given to us

finished it and the game continues with some punishment for those who cheated

lucky my name wasn't called

simply asked people to sign the form without knowing who. hehe..

after that we went to our room to settle in and unpack, bathe and change

at about 12pm was lunch time

buffet style in their restaurant called D'Barrel

food was malay style, not my preference, took mostly fruits

afternoon activity was obstacle cross

all of us including committee was divided into 6 teams

i was with peter in group 1; jw, kah hock, ven han and ah keng in group 3

international students leaving in the evening in group 5 and the committee in group 6

the obstacle course was hard

very similar to the one i gone through in NS but it was longer and have more obstacles

in the end my team finished in the fastest time

(though we were behind group 5&6 but they don't qualify in the scoring, so we were first, hehe..)

after we finished our turn and joined jw them

went down to the beach, just below the obstacle course

sat there and played with the sand abit, picked some shells

after we thought it was time and went back up

all of them wanna come down. swt..

played a blindfolded game

we were blindfolded, turned a few rounds

then asked to go towards our group leader in the other side

just to test our hearing

kinda pointless

5.30 - 7.00pm was our free time

jw n peter them went back to the beach

i took my not so loyal N78, walked around and took some pics

battery went dead half way (said so not so loyal already)

walk back that time saw that peter brought back a tortoise from nearby the beach

OMG!! and they decide to rare it in my apartment

GOSH! they really did, brought it back with us later. haha..

dinner wasn't very appetizing also

the  fruits part always out of stock because of us. hehe..

took a full plate of fruits again, together with some dishes

our lecturer came to visit with her daughter

after dinner was a simple night game called "don't laugh"

the usual rules applied, don't move or laugh

when the other group members try their best to get you out of the game

the game ended 2 hours later with a draw between group 1&3

if i didn't laughed at the last minute

our group would have won

talked by peter whenever mentioned about that game

haiz..T-T

later on was the night jungle walk

changed torchlight with our "coward" & "kanke" group leader

need my much-larger-and-brighter torchlight to lead the way

followed the guide from eagle ranch into the jungle nearby the obstacle course

walked pointlessly without any excitement

no ghost, no monster, no nothing

just leaves, branches and mud!

me and peter tried to scare ourselves by shining our light upwards

trying to look for something "interesting"

but in the end we get nothing

the walk ended with tired legs and a hungry stomach

supper was simple

coffee or tea with bread

bed time was next

bathed and changed and get to bed as soon as we can

the next day started with everyone getting aches and pains

i was used to it since my part time job was much more harsh & tough

breakfast was normal as expected after our morning exercise

which supposed to be aerobics with lecturer but she went back the night before

much disappointed since i look forward to it

should be fun, i think. hehe..

our last activity was amazing race

ran all over the compound which was quite huge

completing task and challenges together

which was a very fun and nice experience

but winning was the main goal

who didn't want to win? haha..

the stations (if not mistaken or left out) were:

i) move a slice of cucumber from your forehead into your mouth without using your hands

ii) dig out 13 piece of puzzle from the sand blindfolded while group members guide you

iii) go through a spider web of strings without touching them. the hard part was how the last few members past through

iv) get a lanyard with ID of a committee from another committee. no effort at all since he gave it over just like that. lol?

v) get something from another committee who was mobile. found out that she was the medic, phoned her for help and she came to us. easy huh?

vi) take out 5 coins of 10cent, 20cents and 50cents each of the same year from the bottom of the swimming pool. didn't take part since i cant swim

vii) find the last committee member to take our time to finish the game

our group finished second after group 3 since we're delayed by group 2 at the second station. so soi..

prize giving ceremony was after we went back to wash up and change and then lunch

sad to hear that the wallet of our director was "dry cleaned" during the activity

pity him for that

but even worse is he sprained his ankle during the obstacle course

talking about soi ah..

took photos with group members and committee

left at 2pm, arrived at library ATM again at about 4pm

head home for a days rest

together with our share of the hamper prize

our gang benefit the most cos we got first and second prize

and our share is the biggest (don't forget about the tortoise too)

hahaz..
